Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data Viro collects when you use useviro.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We are the controller of that data.
1. What we collect
- •Account data — your name, email address, and profile picture, provided by Google when you sign in.
- •Content — the videos you upload, the transcripts generated from them, and the short clips we render for you.
- •Usage data — jobs you run, minutes processed against your plan allowance, and timestamps, so we can operate quotas and support you.
- •Billing data — plan, subscription status, and payment identifiers. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- •Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, and error logs, collected automatically when you use the site.
2. Why we use it
We process your data to provide the service (our contract with you): running transcription and rendering, storing your projects, enforcing plan limits, and taking payment. We also process it under our legitimate interests to keep the service secure, debug failures, and understand aggregate usage. Optional analytics run only with your consent.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your uploads to train our own models.
3. Who we share it with
We share data with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only to run Viro:
- •Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage, and analytics.
- •Replicate — hosted speech-to-text (WhisperX) for transcription and word timing.
- •Anthropic — large language model used to select the moments worth clipping.
- •Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
We may also disclose data where legally required, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users. Some of these providers operate outside your country; transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
4. How long we keep it
Uploads, transcripts, and rendered clips are kept while your account is active so you can return to your projects. You can delete a project at any time, which removes its media from storage. Account and billing records are retained for as long as needed to meet tax and accounting obligations. If you delete your account, we remove your content and anonymise remaining records.
5. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit, files are stored with access-controlled cloud storage, and access to production data is limited to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we will notify you and the relevant authority if a breach affects your data and the law requires it.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email us and we will respond within the period the law allows. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. You can review and change your choices on the Cookie Preferences page.
8. Children
Viro is not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes and contact
We will post any update here and change the date above; material changes will be notified by email or in the app. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email voxlab.dev@gmail.com.
